Article R*2122-2 of the French Labour Code

The members of the High Council for Social Dialogue are appointed by the Prime Minister for a term of five years. The Prime Minister appoints one of the qualified persons mentioned in 3° of Article R. * 2122-1 to chair the meetings of the High Council.

Article R*2122-3 of the French Labour Code

At the end of the four-year electoral cycle provided for in articles L. 2122-5 and L. 2122-9, the minister responsible for labour presents the results recorded to the High Council for Social Dialogue and consults it on the list of representative trade union organisations by branch and at national and cross-industry level. This consultation takes place no later than eight months after the end of this cycle.
