Subsection 1: Organisation and operation

Heads of registry departments are placed at the head of one or more departments. They assist the registrar in the absence of a deputy registrar.

A registrar may be placed in charge of a department when the size of the department does not justify entrusting these duties to an official belonging to the corps of directors of judicial registry services. A registrar may be entrusted with the duties of director of a court registry.

The deputies of the registrar, the heads of registry departments and the officials of the registrar corps exercise, in the assignment given to them by the registrar, the powers conferred on the latter by article R. 1423-41.

Staff belonging to category C of the civil service and, where appropriate, auxiliary and temporary staff contribute to the operation of the various registry departments. Depending on the needs of the department, court registrars may be delegated to the departments of another industrial tribunal within the jurisdiction of the same court of appeal.
