The Commission of the National Centre for the Development of Sport meets when convened by its Chairman. Its secretariat is provided by French Polynesia. The Commission of the National Centre for the Development of Sport in French Polynesia defines, in accordance with the directives of the establishment and respecting the competencies of French Polynesia, the priorities and criteria concerning the distribution of subsidies allocated at local level. It issues an opinion on the allocation of operating subsidies to local sports associations in French Polynesia.

The total amount of operating subsidies intended for sports associations in French Polynesia, determined by the Board of Directors of the National Centre for the Development of Sport, is allocated to French Polynesia. After receiving the opinion of the commission, the President of French Polynesia shall allocate the subsidies to the sports associations of French Polynesia.
