Section 2: Grounds for postponing the starting point or suspending the limitation period.

Prescription does not run: 1° In respect of a claim which depends on a condition, until the condition arrives; 2° In respect of an action in warranty, until the eviction takes place; 3° In respect of a claim with a term, until that term has arrived.

Prescription shall not run or shall be suspended against a person who is unable to act as a result of an impediment resulting from law, agreement or force majeure.

The statute of limitations is also suspended when the judge grants a request for an investigative measure submitted before any trial. The statute of limitations starts to run again, for a period of not less than six months, from the day on which the measure was executed.
