Section 5: Conservation of gametes, germinal tissue and embryos

The interruption or cessation of activity of an establishment, a health cooperation group or a laboratory authorised to preserve gametes, germ tissue or embryos must not result in the cessation of their preservation. With the exception of the gamete donor mentioned in article L. 1244-2, any person who has consented to the storage of gametes, germ tissue or embryos must be informed in advance of their removal and of the new place where they will be stored.

The gamete, germinal tissue and embryo registers provided for in articles R. 2142-33 and R. 2142-34, as well as, where applicable, the information mentioned in article R. 1244-5 concerning the gamete donor, must be sent to the health establishment, body, health cooperation group or laboratory receiving the gametes, germinal tissue or embryos under conditions that guarantee their confidentiality.
