Section 7: Control of cinema box office receipts

Admission to a film show organised by the operator of a film theatre is an individual right. Pricing is organised by category in accordance with procedures laid down by regulation. Except by way of derogation, admission tickets that are not linked to a computerised ticketing system may not be issued outside cinemas. The admission fee is retained by the spectator until the end of the film show.

It is an offence for the operator of a cinema to offer a spectator, irrespective of the terms of the offer, the sale of an admission ticket to a cinema screening: 1° Either combined, with or without a price supplement, with the delivery of a good or the provision of a service; 2° Or as part of an online sales or booking service, may not result in a reduction in…
