The Commissions are chaired by the Director General of the Regional Health Agency or his representative. They meet when convened by their Chairman, who sets the agenda, or at the request of one third of their members. Each committee meets at least once a year. The committees may hear any outside person whose opinion is likely to enlighten their work. They may set up technical committees of their own choosing.

Each committee draws up its own rules of procedure.

The Director General of the Regional Health Agency draws up an annual report on the activities of each commission. The report, together with any comments from the various members of the commission, is sent to the chair of the Regional Conference on Health and Autonomy.
