The Metropolitan Council regulates the affairs of the Lyon Metropolitan Area through its deliberations.

Metropolitan Lyon may decide, subject to the agreement of the commune in which the site is located, a competent public authority within the meaning of article L. 251-2 of the Internal Security Code, to acquire, install and maintain video protection systems for the purposes of crime prevention. It may make personnel available to interested municipalities to view the images.
