Sub-paragraph 3: Validation of acquired experience

In accordance with article R. 335-7 of the Education Code, the procedure for validating prior learning includes an admissibility stage for the application for validation of prior learning and an assessment stage by the diploma panel.

In accordance with articles R. 335-6 and R. 335-7 of the Education Code, candidates must draw up an application file, enclosing supporting documents attesting to the duration and nature of their experience, and submit it to the regional directorate for youth, sport and social cohesion in their place of residence, in accordance with the conditions set out in the fifth paragraph of II of the aforementioned article R. 335-7.

When the application for admissibility is for a diploma enabling the supervision of activities taking place in a specific environment, as defined in article R. 212-7, the applicant must also certify, in his or her admissibility file, that he or she has met the “requirements prior to entry into training” for obtaining the diploma in question.

Where the request for admissibility is for a complementary certificate, the candidate must enclose a copy of the diploma with which the complementary certification is associated with their admissibility file.

Applicants who are not resident in France must submit their application to the regional directorate for youth, sport and social cohesion of their choice.

The regional director of youth, sport and social cohesion will inform candidates, as part of the admissibility decision notified under the conditions laid down in III of article R. 335-7 of the Education Code , of the address of the website of the ministries responsible for youth and sport, where they can find out the dates and locations of jury meetings for the diploma in question.

The regional director of youth, sport and social cohesion fills in the national tool for monitoring registrations and results for the certification tests of the ministries responsible for youth and sport.

Candidates whose application for validation of prior learning is accepted must compile their validation file in accordance with article R. 335-8 of the Education Code. Candidates must use the validation file models appended to this order. The candidate sends his/her validation file to the regional director of youth, sport and social cohesion responsible for organising the jury for the diploma in question. The file may only be dealt with by one jury. Following the jury’s decision in the event of non-validation or partial validation, the candidate may submit a new application for a new jury session date.

Any complete validation file submitted by a candidate no later than two months before the date of the jury must be presented by the regional director of youth, sports and social cohesion on the date of the nearest assessment session of the competent jury. For organisational reasons, the regional director may postpone the presentation of this file until the next jury session.
