Subsection 2: Approval of doping prevention medical centres

Doping prevention medical centres are approved by the regional prefect after consultation with the director general of the regional health agency with territorial jurisdiction.

Approval is granted once the conditions defined in article D. 232-5 have been met. It specifies the territorial jurisdiction in which the doping prevention medical units operate. In each territorial jurisdiction, only one branch is granted the approval referred to in article L. 232-1.

To obtain the approval referred to in article L. 232-1, a doping prevention medical unit must meet the following conditions: 1° It must be directed by a doctor with expertise in sports medicine or the treatment of addictions, or who has experience in doping prevention; 2° It must have an organisational and operational plan which identifies the staff, health or sports professionals or psychologists required to carry out the tasks…

Approval is withdrawn by the regional prefect if the branch office ceases to meet the conditions laid down for its issue or is no longer able to carry out its tasks. The branch will be informed in advance of the reasons for the proposed withdrawal and given the opportunity to submit observations within eight days.
