Subsection 1: Radiation protection inspector

The radiation protection inspectors referred to in Articles L. 1333-29 and L. 1333-30 are responsible for monitoring the application of the provisions of this chapter and of Annexes 13-7 and 13-8 attached to it.

Radiation protection inspectors may be provided, at their request, by the head of the establishment with any useful information to explain the measures taken to apply the provisions of this chapter when they are competent to monitor its application.

Before making an appointment, the authorities referred to in Article R. 1333-168 or Article R. 1333-169 shall check that the professional experience and legal and technical knowledge of the agent in the field of radiation protection are suitable for the performance of the duties entrusted to him.

I.-The authorities referred to in Article R. 1333-168 or Article R. 1333-169 shall rule on the application for designation within six months of receipt of a dossier including the reasoned opinion of the head of department.
