Subsection 1: Setting the payment deadline

The contracting authorities, including those acting as contracting entities, shall pay the sums due in principal under a contract within the time-limit laid down in the contract or, failing that, within the time-limit laid down by regulation, which may differ according to the category of contracting authority.Where a time-limit for payment is laid down in the contract, it may not exceed the time-limit laid down by regulation.

The contracting entities referred to in 2° and 3° of Article L. 1212-1 shall pay the principal sums due under a contract in accordance with the conditions laid down in Article L. 441-10, in 5° of II of Article L. 441-11 and inArticle L. 441-13 of the French Commercial Code.
