Section 2: Family reunification

Family reunification is refused:1° To a family member whose presence in France would constitute a threat to public order or where it is established that he or she is an instigator, perpetrator or accomplice of the persecution and serious harm which justified the granting of asylum protection;2° To an applicant or family member who does not comply with the essential principles which, in accordance with the laws of the Republic,…

Articles L. 434-1, L. 434-3 to L. 434-5 and the first paragraph of article L. 434-9 are applicable.Family reunification is not subject to conditions concerning prior length of legal residence, resources or accommodation.

Family members of a refugee or beneficiary of subsidiary protection apply for an entry visa to enter France for a stay of more than three months to the diplomatic and consular authorities, who will decide on the application as soon as possible. To do this, they must produce civil status documents proving their identity and family ties with the refugee or beneficiary of subsidiary protection.
