Section 1: Information on the social conditions under which products are manufactured

The manufacturer, producer or distributor of a good marketed in France shall provide consumers who so request and who are aware of serious evidence casting doubt on the fact that this good has been manufactured under conditions that respect international conventions relating to fundamental human rights, with any information they have relating to one of the following elements: geographical origin of the materials and components used in manufacture, quality controls…

If the transmission to the consumer of information, pursuant to article L. 113-1, is such as to seriously compromise the strategic or industrial interests of the manufacturer, producer or distributor concerned by the request, the latter may decide not to pass it on, provided that it gives reasons for doing so.
