Section 4: Production aid

Selective financial support is available for video game production.

Video game production grants are awarded to video game developers acting as delegated production companies. Aid may be awarded to several companies acting jointly as part of a co-production.

To be eligible for video game production aid, video game creation companies must meet the conditions set out in article 322-14.

Support for the production of video games is awarded for projects that meet the following conditions:1° The video game creation company holds at least 50% of the tangible and intangible property rights to the video game, or at least 30% of these rights in the case of an international co-production;2° The video game is the subject of a French-language version when it is first commercially exploited.

Aid for video game production is awarded in consideration of the criteria set out in article 322-15.

Aid for the production of video games is awarded with a view to contributing towards the costs mentioned in article 322-16 allocated to the production of video games.

The total amount of aid for video game production may not exceed 50% of the expenditure referred to in article 322-23 or, in the case of international co-production, of the French participation.
