Automatic financial aid and selective financial aid are awarded to support the promotion of audiovisual works abroad.
The award of financial aid for the promotion of audiovisual works abroad is subject to the provisions of Commission Regulation (EU) No 651/2014 of 17 June 2014 declaring certain categories of aid compatible with the internal market in application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty, in particular those provided for in Chapter I and Article 54 of Section 11 relating to aid schemes for audiovisual works.
The beneficiaries of aid for the promotion of audiovisual works abroad are production or distribution companies.
To be eligible for aid for the promotion of audiovisual works abroad, companies must meet the following conditions:1° Be established in France;2° Have chairmen, directors or managers, as well as the majority of directors, who are French nationals or equivalent;3° Not be controlled by one or more natural or legal persons who are nationals of States other than European States, when they are incorporated in the form of a commercial…
Companies must provide evidence of sales of exploitation rights abroad for works meeting the conditions of article 722-6, either for a minimum amount of €100,000 during the year preceding the application for aid, or for a minimum amount of €200,000 during the two years preceding the application for aid.
Audiovisual works produced under the conditions laid down in Chapter I of Title I of Book III which meet one of the following two conditions are eligible for support for the promotion of audiovisual works abroad:1° Either have been the subject of a duly completed and certified acceptance of their final version by one or more television service publishers or one or more on-demand audiovisual media service publishers established in…
The total amount of financial aid awarded for the promotion of audiovisual works abroad may not exceed 50% of the expenditure incurred by the company in this respect.
The total amount of financial aid awarded for the promotion of audiovisual works abroad may not exceed €240,000 per company per year.
