Chapter II: Nursery assistants

The profession of childcare assistant may be practised by persons who hold : 1° a state diploma in childcare support ; 2° A certificate of aptitude for the duties of a nursery assistant; 3° The professional diploma of nursery assistant.

Childcare assistants may use their evidence of formal qualifications in the language of the State which issued them. He must indicate the place and establishment where it was obtained. When the authorisation to practise or declaration of provision of services is issued, the childcare assistant must have the language skills required to practise the profession and those relating to the systems of weights and measures used in France. The language proficiency test must be proportionate to the activity to be carried out and must be carried out once the professional qualification has been recognised.

The following are determined by decree in the Conseil d’Etat: 1° The composition and functioning of the commission mentioned in article L. 4392-2 and the conditions under which the person concerned is subject to a compensation measure ; 2° The procedures for verifying the professional qualifications mentioned in article L. 4392-4.
