Article 1057 of the French Code of civil procedure

The civil register consists of all the extracts of applications, deeds and judgments which, by virtue of the specific texts referring to this register, must be filed and kept at the registries of the judicial courts.

The extracts are entered in a register, day by day and in numerical order.

Le répertoire civil est constitué par l’ensemble des extraits des demandes, actes et jugements qui, en vertu des textes particuliers se référant à ce répertoire, doivent être classés et conservés aux greffes des tribunaux judiciaires.

Les extraits sont inscrits sur un registre, jour par jour et par ordre numérique.
