Article 211-129 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

The decision to grant aid lapses if filming does not begin within a maximum of twenty-four months from the date of notification to the beneficiary. In exceptional circumstances, and at the reasoned request of the production company, the aforementioned period may be extended for a period not exceeding one year, by decision of the President of the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée.

La décision d’attribution de l’aide est caduque si aucun commencement de tournage n’est entrepris dans un délai maximum de vingt-quatre mois à compter de la date de sa notification au bénéficiaire. A titre exceptionnel, et sur demande motivée de l’entreprise de production, le délai précité peut être prolongé d’une durée qui ne peut excéder un an, par décision du président du Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée.
