Article 222-18 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

Direct allocations are reserved for distribution companies that:
1° Have distributed, in the twenty-four months preceding the application, at least three feature-length cinematographic works, each of which was shown in at least five cinematographic establishments at the time of its national theatrical release. Cinematographic works distributed by several companies are not taken into account;
2° Do not have any direct or indirect capital link with a television service publisher, an operator running an electronic communications network open to the public or providing an electronic communications service to the public or a company established in a State other than a European State;
3° Hold a mandate for the distribution of the work concerned entered in the public film and audiovisual register.

Article 222-18

Les allocations directes sont réservées aux entreprises de distribution qui :
1° Ont distribué, dans les vingt-quatre mois précédant la demande, au moins trois œuvres cinématographiques de longue durée représentées chacune dans au moins cinq établissements de spectacles cinématographiques lors de leur sortie nationale en salles. Ne sont pas prises en compte les œuvres cinématographiques dont la distribution a été assurée par plusieurs entreprises ;
2° N’ont pas de lien capitalistique, direct ou indirect, avec un éditeur de services de télévision, un opérateur exploitant un réseau de communications électroniques ouvert au public ou fournissant au public un service de communications électroniques ou une entreprise établie dans un Etat autre qu’un Etat européen ;
3° Détiennent un mandat pour la distribution de l’œuvre concernée inscrit au registre public du cinéma et de l’audiovisuel.
