Direct allocations are reserved for distribution companies that:1° Have distributed, in the twenty-four months preceding the application, at least three feature-length cinematographic works, each of which was shown in at least five cinematographic establishments at the time of its national theatrical release. Long-length cinematographic works that meet the following conditions are eligible for direct allocations: 1° They have received investment approval or, if this has not been requested, production approval; 2° They have been financed by a French contribution equal to at least 30% of their final production cost; 3° They have not already been released in cinemas; 4° Be shown in between five and two hundred cinemas at the time of…
For the allocation of a direct grant, the distribution company submits the application file as follows:1° When it has provisional information, at the earliest three months before the release date of the cinematographic work in cinemas;2° When it has definitive information, at the latest seven months after the release date of the cinematographic work in cinemas.Where several companies distribute the same film, the application must be submitted jointly.
The amount of the direct allocation is set at 50% of the definitive distribution expenses, up to the ceiling provided for in the paragraph below and subject to the application, where applicable, of the reduction provided for in Article 222-25. Where several companies are responsible for the distribution of the same film, the direct allocation is awarded to each of the companies on the basis of the distribution costs it has actually incurred, unless otherwise agreed between them.
In the case mentioned in 1° of Article 222-20, the direct allocation is paid in three instalments.

The amount of the direct grant may be subject to a reduction fixed at the time of the last payment, taking into account the total amount of public financial aid granted, the ceiling mentioned in article 222-21 and the total amount of the appropriations allocated to the direct grants.
