Article 222-20 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

For the allocation of a direct grant, the distribution company submits the application file as follows:
1° When it has provisional information, at the earliest three months before the release date of the cinematographic work in cinemas;
2° When it has definitive information, at the latest seven months after the release date of the cinematographic work in cinemas.
Where several companies distribute the same film, the application must be submitted jointly.

Pour l’attribution d’une allocation directe, l’entreprise de distribution remet le dossier de demande selon les cas :
1° Lorsqu’elle dispose d’éléments prévisionnels, au plus tôt trois mois avant la date de sortie de l’œuvre cinématographique en salles de spectacles cinématographiques ;
2° Lorsqu’elle dispose d’éléments définitifs, au plus tard sept mois après la date de sortie de l’œuvre cinématographique en salles de spectacles cinématographiques.
Lorsque plusieurs entreprises assurent la distribution d’une même œuvre cinématographique, la demande est présentée conjointement.
