Article 228 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

If the Investigating Chamber considers that the judicial police officer or agent has committed an offence under criminal law, it shall also order that the case file be forwarded to the Public Prosecutor for all purposes.

Si la chambre de l’instruction estime que l’officier ou agent de police judiciaire a commis une infraction à la loi pénale, elle ordonne en outre la transmission du dossier au procureur général à toutes fins qu’il appartiendra.
