Article 23 bis of the French Customs Code

Subject to the application of international agreements, the import of foodstuffs, materials and products of all kinds and origins which do not comply with the legislative or regulatory obligations imposed on similar national foodstuffs, materials or products in terms of marketing or sale, may be prohibited or regulated by joint orders issued by the Minister for the Economy and Finance, the Minister responsible for resources and the Minister for Agriculture responsible for fraud control.

Sous réserve de l’application des accords internationaux, l’importation des denrées, matières et produits de toute nature et de toutes origines, qui ne satisfont pas aux obligations législatives ou réglementaires imposées en matière de commercialisation ou de vente, aux denrées, matières ou produits similaires nationaux, peut être prohibée ou réglementée par des arrêtés conjoints du ministre de l’économie et des finances, du ministre responsable de la ressource et du ministre de l’agriculture chargé de la répression des fraudes.
