Article 526 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The order contains the surname, first names, date and place of birth and domicile of the accused, the legal description, date and place of the alleged offence, a reference to the applicable laws and, in the event of a conviction, the amount of the fine and the duration of the judicial restraint.

The judge is not required to give reasons for the criminal order.

Article 526

L’ordonnance contient les nom, prénoms, date et lieu de naissance et domicile du prévenu, la qualification légale, la date et le lieu du fait imputé, la mention des textes applicables et, en cas de condamnation, le montant de l’amende ainsi que la durée de la contrainte judiciaire.

Le juge n’est pas tenu de motiver l’ordonnance pénale.
