Article 621-7 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

Direct grants are awarded to help cover the following production costs, corresponding to work carried out in France by companies established in France:
1° Digital visual effects costs;
2° Costs relating to the overall additional cost of producing the work due to the use of digital visual effects, up to a maximum of 5% of the final cost of the work pro rata temporis for scenes using these effects.
The final cost of the work is reduced by the expenses mentioned in 1° that have already been taken into account.

Les allocations directes sont attribuées en vue de contribuer à la prise en charge des dépenses de production suivantes, correspondant à des travaux effectués en France par des entreprises établies en France :
1° Les dépenses d’effets visuels numériques ;
2° Les dépenses liées au surcoût global de la production de l’œuvre induit par le recours aux effets visuels numériques, à hauteur de 5 % du coût définitif de l’œuvre au prorata temporis des scènes utilisant ces effets.
Le coût définitif de l’œuvre est minoré des dépenses mentionnées au 1° déjà prises en compte.
