Article 656-2 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The judicial authority may take the testimony of experts from international organisations or use a report drawn up by them as a body of evidence to establish the material element of the offence or as elements to help establish the truth. The request for testimony is forwarded by the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

L’autorité judiciaire peut recueillir le témoignage d’experts d’organisations internationales ou utiliser un rapport qu’ils ont rédigé comme faisceau d’indices permettant d’établir l’élément matériel de l’infraction ou comme éléments permettant de contribuer à la manifestation de la vérité. La demande de témoignage est transmise par le ministre des affaires étrangères.
