Article 696-34 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

As an exception to the provisions of Article 696-6, the rule of speciality does not apply where the person claimed waives it under the conditions provided for in articles 696-28 and 696-40 or where the French Government gives its consent under the conditions set out in article 696-35.

This consent may be given by the French Government, even if the act, cause of the request, is not one of the offences determined by Article 696-3.

Article 696-34

Par dérogation aux dispositions de l’article 696-6, la règle de la spécialité ne s’applique pas lorsque la personne réclamée y renonce dans les conditions prévues aux articles 696-28 et 696-40 ou lorsque le gouvernement français donne son consentement dans les conditions prévues à l’article 696-35.

Ce consentement peut être donné par le gouvernement français, même au cas où le fait, cause de la demande, ne serait pas l’une des infractions déterminées par l’article 696-3.
