Article 706-53-1 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The automated national judicial file of perpetrators of sexual or violent offences constitutes an automated application of nominative information maintained by the criminal records department under the authority of the Minister of Justice and the supervision of a magistrate. In order to prevent the repetition of the offences mentioned in article 706-47 and to facilitate the identification of their authors, this processing receives, stores and communicates to authorised persons the information provided for in Article 706-53-2 according to the procedures set out in this chapter.

Article 706-53-1

Le fichier judiciaire national automatisé des auteurs d’infractions sexuelles ou violentes constitue une application automatisée d’informations nominatives tenue par le service du casier judiciaire sous l’autorité du ministre de la justice et le contrôle d’un magistrat. Afin de prévenir le renouvellement des infractions mentionnées à l’article 706-47 et de faciliter l’identification de leurs auteurs, ce traitement reçoit, conserve et communique aux personnes habilitées les informations prévues à l’article 706-53-2 selon les modalités prévues par le présent chapitre.
