Article 706-53-3 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The public prosecutor or the competent investigating judge shall have the information to be included in the file recorded without delay via a secure means of telecommunication. However, this information will only be accessible when the file is consulted after the identity of the person concerned has been verified, where possible, by the service managing the file on the basis of the national identification register.

When they become aware of the new address of a person whose identity is recorded in the file, as well as when they receive proof of the address of such a person, judicial police officers shall record this information in the file without delay via a secure means of telecommunication.

Le procureur de la République ou le juge d’instruction compétent fait procéder sans délai à l’enregistrement des informations devant figurer dans le fichier par l’intermédiaire d’un moyen de télécommunication sécurisé. Ces informations ne sont toutefois accessibles en cas de consultation du fichier qu’après vérification, lorsqu’elle est possible, de l’identité de la personne concernée, faite par le service gestionnaire du fichier au vu du répertoire national d’identification.

Lorsqu’ils ont connaissance de la nouvelle adresse d’une personne dont l’identité est enregistrée dans le fichier ainsi que lorsqu’ils reçoivent la justification de l’adresse d’une telle personne, les officiers de police judiciaire enregistrent sans délai cette information dans le fichier par l’intermédiaire d’un moyen de télécommunication sécurisé.
