Article 712-16-3 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Where the sentenced person is an adult who, in accordance with article 706-112, of a legal protection measure, their curator, guardian or the person designated in application of articles 706-114 or 706-117 is notified of the date of the adversarial hearing provided for in article 712-6 or the hearing provided for in article 712-13. This curator, guardian or person may make written observations or be heard as a witness by the sentence enforcement court, by decision of its president. The convicted person must be assisted by a lawyer, appointed by him or one of these persons or, at the request of the sentence enforcement judge, by the President of the Bar, in accordance with Article 706-116.

Lorsque le condamné est une personne majeure faisant l’objet, conformément à l’article 706-112, d’une mesure de protection juridique, son curateur, son tuteur ou la personne désignée en application des articles 706-114 ou 706-117 est avisé de la date du débat contradictoire prévu à l’article 712-6 ou de l’audience prévue à l’article 712-13. Ce curateur, ce tuteur ou cette personne peut faire des observations écrites ou être entendu comme témoin par la juridiction de l’application des peines, sur décision de son président. Le condamné doit être assisté d’un avocat, désigné par lui ou l’une de ces personnes ou, à la demande du juge de l’application des peines, par le bâtonnier, conformément à l’article 706-116.
