Article 741-1 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

In the event of imprisonment for a prison sentence that is partly suspended on probation, the convicted person will be given a notice to appear before the prison integration and probation service before being released, within a period of no more than eight days from release in the case of a person who has been convicted or sentenced for an offence for which socio-judicial supervision is incurred, and no more than one month in other cases. The probationary suspension measure is then referred to the prison integration and probation service.

Article 741-1

En cas d’incarcération pour une condamnation à une peine d’emprisonnement assortie pour partie du sursis probatoire, il est remis au condamné avant sa libération un avis de convocation à comparaître devant le service pénitentiaire d’insertion et de probation dans un délai qui ne saurait être supérieur à huit jours à compter de sa libération s’il s’agit d’une personne condamnée ou ayant été condamnée pour une infraction pour laquelle le suivi socio-judiciaire est encouru et qui ne saurait être supérieur à un mois dans les autres cas. Le service pénitentiaire d’insertion et de probation est alors saisi de la mesure de sursis probatoire.
