Article 763-1 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

A person sentenced to socio-judicial supervision in accordance with the terms of articles 131-36-1 to 131-36-8 of the Penal Code is placed under the control of the sentence enforcement judge in whose jurisdiction the offender is ordinarily resident or, if the offender is not ordinarily resident in France, of the sentence enforcement judge of the court in whose jurisdiction the court that ruled in the first instance has its seat. The sentence enforcement judge may designate the prison integration and probation service to monitor compliance with the obligations imposed on the offender. The provisions of article 740 shall apply.

Article 763-1

La personne condamnée à un suivi socio-judiciaire selon les modalités prévues par les articles 131-36-1 à 131-36-8 du code pénal est placée sous le contrôle du juge de l’application des peines dans le ressort duquel elle a sa résidence habituelle ou, si elle n’a pas en France de résidence habituelle, du juge de l’application des peines du tribunal dans le ressort duquel a son siège la juridiction qui a statué en première instance. Le juge de l’application des peines peut désigner le service pénitentiaire d’insertion et de probation pour veiller au respect des obligations imposées au condamné. Les dispositions de l’article 740 sont applicables.
