Article 822 of the French Code of civil procedure

The claimant and the judicial conciliator are notified by any means of the judge’s decision. A copy of the request is sent to the conciliator.

The judicial conciliator shall proceed with the conciliation attempt as set out in articles 129-3 to 129-5,130 and 131. At his request, his mission may be renewed, without it being necessary to obtain the agreement of the parties.

If the conciliation attempt fails, the court conciliator informs the judge, specifying the date of the meeting at the end of which he noted the failure.

Le demandeur et le conciliateur de justice sont avisés par tous moyens de la décision du juge. Une copie de la demande est adressée au conciliateur.


Le conciliateur de justice procède à la tentative de conciliation comme il est dit aux articles 129-3 à 129-5,130 et 131. A sa demande, sa mission peut être renouvelée, sans qu’il soit nécessaire de recueillir l’accord des parties.


En cas d’échec de la tentative de conciliation, le conciliateur de justice en informe le juge en précisant la date de la réunion à l’issue de laquelle il a constaté cet échec.
