Article 919-44 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

I. – The amount of selective aid granted in application of articles 223-1, 223-9 and 223-15 for the distribution of cinematographic works other than those mentioned in article 222-7 and article 222-8, which are released in cinemas after 19 May 2021, may be increased.
The increase applies to aid granted between 16 March 2021 and 31 December 2021.
The amount of the increase is set, after consultation with the film distribution aid committee, taking into account the amount of funding allocated to the aid provided for in this sub-section, the number of works eligible for the increase and the amount of distribution costs incurred by the distribution company for the film concerned.
II. – The amount of selective aid granted in application of articles 223-1, 223-9 and 223-15 for the distribution of cinematographic works other than those mentioned in article 222-7 and article 222-8, which are released in cinemas between 1 January 2023 and 30 September 2023 may be subject to an increase.
The increase applies to aid granted between 1 March 2022 and 31 July 2023.
The amount of the increase is set, after consultation with the Film Distribution Aid Commission, taking into account the amount of funding allocated, the number of works eligible for the increase and the amount of distribution costs incurred by the distribution company for the film concerned.

I. – Le montant des aides sélectives attribuées en application des articles 223-1, 223-9 et 223-15 pour la distribution d’œuvres cinématographiques autres que celles mentionnées à l’article 222-7 et à l’article 222-8, dont la sortie en salles de spectacles cinématographiques a lieu à compter du 19 mai 2021, peut faire l’objet d’une majoration.
La majoration s’applique aux aides attribuées entre le 16 mars 2021 et le 31 décembre 2021.
Le montant de la majoration est fixé, après consultation de la commission des aides à la distribution cinématographique, compte tenu du montant des crédits affectés aux aides prévues par la présente sous-section, du nombre d’œuvres éligibles à la majoration et du montant des dépenses de distribution engagées par l’entreprise de distribution pour l’œuvre cinématographique concernée.
