The specific part of the “brevet d’Etat d’éducateur sportif” is obtained :
1° Either by passing an examination; for the first-degree State Certificate in Sports Education, the candidate must obtain the certificate of passing the common part before registering for the specific part;
When preparation for the examination is organised as part of a training cycle covered by an agreement between the training body or establishment or the university and the Regional Director of Youth, Sport and the Voluntary Sector, a training booklet is issued at the end of a pre-qualification course organised under the responsibility of the Regional Director of Youth, Sport and the Voluntary Sector.
This provision is aimed in particular at students enrolled in training courses related to the organisation and management of physical and sporting activities, holders of an employment contract with compulsory training (apprenticeship contract, work-linked integration contract) as well as holders of an employment contract covered by law no. 97-940 of 16 October 1997 relating to the development of activities for the employment of young people.
2° Or at the end of a training course assessed by continuous assessment of knowledge, including a work placement. Candidates for this training must pass one or more selection tests and will be issued with a training booklet;
3° Or at the end of a modular training course, which includes :
a) A selection test;
b) A pre-training course assessed by the regional director of youth, sport and community life, leading to the issue of a training booklet;
c) A practical teaching course;
d) Training units;
e) A final examination, for which the candidate must produce a certificate of successful completion of the common part when registering and must have completed the practical teaching course and the training units in order to register for the final examination.
In each sports option, one or more decrees, issued in application of article D. 212-72, determine the content of the specific part.
