Article A322-161 of the French Sports Code

The jump sessions defined in 3° of articles A. 322-150 and A. 322-151 as well as in article A. 322-152 require at least the presence of two designated autonomous parachutists, one on the ground, the other in the air, who coordinate, in liaison with the pilot, the general conditions of the drop. However, the tandem instructor may ensure the safety of his release alone in flight.

On board the aircraft, in freefall and under canopy, the tandem instructor may not be entrusted with any mission other than that of teaching his student.

Les séances de sauts définies au 3° des articles A. 322-150 et A. 322-151 ainsi qu’à l’article A. 322-152 nécessitent au minimum la présence de deux parachutistes autonomes désignés, l’un au sol, l’autre en vol, qui coordonnent, en liaison avec le pilote, les conditions générales du largage. Toutefois, le moniteur tandem peut assurer seul, en vol, la sécurité de son largage.

A bord de l’aéronef, en chute libre et sous voilure, le moniteur tandem ne peut se voir confier aucune autre mission que celle d’enseignement dispensé à son élève.
