Article A343-1-1 of the French Insurance Code

The mathematical provisions of life assurance, capitalisation and nuptial-natality insurance contracts with periodic premiums must be calculated taking into account the charges for acquisition costs in the premium payer’s commitment.

The provision resulting from the above calculation may not be negative, lower than the surrender value of the contract or lower than the provision corresponding to the reduced capital.

Les provisions mathématiques des contrats d’assurance sur la vie, de capitalisation et d’assurance nuptialité-natalité, à primes périodiques, doivent être calculées en prenant en compte les chargements destinés aux frais d’acquisition dans l’engagement du payeur de primes.

La provision résultant du calcul précédent ne peut être négative, ni inférieure à la valeur de rachat du contrat, ni inférieure à la provision correspondant au capital réduit.
