Victim support associations may be approved under the last paragraph of article 41, in accordance with the conditions set out in this chapter, when their purpose is to provide support and assistance to victims of criminal offences.
The association may also be delegated by the public prosecutor to establish compensation for the victim under the penalty of reparation provided for in article 131-8-1 of the Criminal Code.
This approval is general when it concerns all offences and specialised when it applies only to domestic violence and sexual and gender-based violence.
As general approval includes the prerogatives of specialist approval, an association may only obtain one approval during the same period.
