Article D1242-7 of the French Labour Code

The fixed-term employment contract concluded to help older employees return to work, as provided for in article D. 1242-2, may be concluded for a maximum period of eighteen months.
It may be renewed once for a fixed term which, added to the duration of the initial contract, may not exceed thirty-six months.

Le contrat de travail à durée déterminée conclu pour le retour à l’emploi des salariés âgés, prévu à l’article D. 1242-2, peut être conclu pour une durée maximale de dix-huit mois.
Il peut être renouvelé une fois pour une durée déterminée qui, ajoutée à la durée du contrat initial, ne peut excéder trente-six mois.
