Article D1442-1 of the French Labour Code

Continuing education for employment tribunal members may be provided :

1° By public establishments or training institutes for State personnel;

2° By public higher education establishments;

3° By private not-for-profit organisations that :

a) Are attached to professional and trade union organisations that have obtained, at national level, one hundred and fifty seats in the most recent industrial tribunal nominations, spread over at least forty départements ;

b) Dedicate themselves exclusively to this training.

La formation continue des conseillers prud’hommes peut être assurée :

1° Par des établissements publics ou instituts de formation des personnels de l’Etat ;

2° Par des établissements publics d’enseignement supérieur ;

3° Par des organismes privés à but non lucratif qui :

a) Sont rattachés aux organisations professionnelles et syndicales ayant obtenu, au niveau national, cent cinquante sièges à la dernière désignation prud’homale répartis dans au moins quarante départements ;

b) Se consacrent exclusivement à cette formation.
