Article D214-2 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

For associations or groups whose exclusive purpose is to contribute to the development of cinematographic culture and image training, an exception may be made to the limit provided for in Article D. 214-1 by decision of the President of the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée up to a limit of twelve screenings per year and per association or group.
The exemption is granted for a period of three years on the basis of an application including:
1° The articles of association of the association or grouping;
2° A document setting out the conditions under which the association or grouping intends to set up actions to achieve its purpose. In the event of an application for renewal of the derogation, this document also contains an activity report enabling the compliance of the actions undertaken with the purpose of the association or grouping to be assessed.
The President of the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée must be notified within three months of any change in the information provided in support of the application for exemption.

Pour les associations ou groupements dont l’objet exclusif est de contribuer au développement de la culture cinématographique et à la formation à l’image, il peut être dérogé à la limite prévue à l’article D. 214-1 par décision du président du Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée dans la limite de douze séances par an et par association ou groupement.
La dérogation est accordée pour une durée de trois ans au vu d’un dossier de demande qui comprend :
1° Les statuts de l’association ou du groupement ;
2° Un document exposant les conditions dans lesquelles l’association ou le groupement entend mettre en place les actions propres à réaliser son objet. En cas de demande de renouvellement de dérogation ce document contient, en outre, un bilan d’activité permettant d’apprécier la conformité des actions entreprises à l’objet de l’association ou du groupement.
Toute modification des renseignements fournis à l’appui de la demande de dérogation est communiquée au président du Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée dans un délai de trois mois.
