Article D325-13 of the French Tourism Code

Family holiday homes are non-profit-making establishments of a social, family and cultural nature, whose main purpose is to accommodate families during their holidays and leisure activities. Priority is given to families on low incomes.

They may welcome other categories of users, as defined by interministerial decree, particularly outside school holidays.

They must offer accommodation, catering facilities and community services tailored to the needs of families.

Les maisons familiales de vacances sont des établissements sans but lucratif, à caractère social, familial et culturel qui ont pour principale vocation l’accueil des familles pendant leurs vacances et leurs loisirs. Elles sont, en priorité, ouvertes aux familles ayant des revenus modestes.

Elles peuvent accueillir, notamment en dehors des vacances scolaires, d’autres catégories d’usagers définies par arrêté interministériel.

Elles doivent offrir des locaux d’hébergement, des moyens de restauration et des services collectifs adaptés aux besoins des familles.
