Article D325-14 of the French Tourism Code

The accommodation may be divided into collective or individual units, grouped together on the same plot of land or scattered over the territory of a municipality or neighbouring municipalities, provided that the distances to be covered allow users daily access to the reception office and collective family services.

They may comprise, in whole or in part, premises that have no foundations and that can be dismantled, transported or towed.

These must be set up by the managing bodies on fixed sites, unless an exemption is granted by the Prefect, throughout the annual opening period of the family holiday homes.

The premises in which the family holiday home operates may be used for another activity outside the school holidays.

Les locaux d’hébergement peuvent être répartis en unités collectives ou individuelles, être regroupés sur un même terrain ou dispersés sur le territoire d’une commune ou de communes avoisinantes, sous réserve que les trajets à parcourir permettent aux usagers l’accès quotidien du bureau d’accueil et des services collectifs familiaux.

Ils peuvent comprendre, en totalité ou en partie, des locaux dépourvus de fondations, démontables, transportables ou tractables.

Ceux-ci doivent être installés par les organismes gestionnaires sur des emplacements fixes, sauf dérogation accordée par le préfet, pendant toute la durée d’ouverture annuelle des maisons familiales de vacances.

Les locaux dans lesquels fonctionne la maison familiale de vacances peuvent être utilisés pour une autre activité en dehors des vacances scolaires.
