Article D40-3 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

For the application of Articles 186 and 186-1, and for all transfers of files to the court of appeal, the copy of the information file provided for by Article 81 which must be sent to the public prosecutor or the president of the investigating chamber may be the copy in digital format provided for by Article D. 15-7. It may be sent by electronic means of communication.

Pour l’application des articles 186 et 186-1, ainsi que pour l’ensemble des transmissions de dossiers à la cour d’appel, la copie du dossier de l’information prévue par l’article 81 devant être adressée au procureur général ou au président de la chambre de l’instruction peut être la copie sous format numérique prévue par l’article D. 15-7. Elle peut être transmise par un moyen de communication électronique.
