Article D4341-10 of the French Public Health Code

The director of the training and research unit may terminate or suspend the traineeship on his own initiative or at the request of either the training supervisor, the student or, where applicable, the head of department or medical director of the establishment. If necessary, the trainee will be given another assignment.

Le directeur de l’unité de formation et de recherche peut mettre fin au stage ou le suspendre de sa propre initiative ou sur la demande soit du maître de stage, soit de l’étudiant, soit, le cas échéant, du chef de service ou du directeur médical de l’établissement. Le stagiaire est pourvu, le cas échéant, d’une autre affectation.
