Article D45-1-1 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The public prosecutor and the lawyers for all the parties are notified by any means of the date of the preparatory criminal meeting at least five working days before it takes place.

This notice specifies how the lawyers will be able to take part in the meeting, in particular by telecommunication.

The president of the assize court may attach to this notice a document setting out the projected schedule for the hearing, mentioning, in particular in the light of the proposals previously communicated to him by the public prosecutor, the list of witnesses and experts who will be called, and also mentioning their order of deposition and the duration of the hearing.

Le ministère public et les avocats de l’ensemble des parties sont avisés par tout moyen de la date de la réunion préparatoire criminelle au moins cinq jours ouvrables avant celle-ci.


Cet avis précise selon quelles modalités, notamment de télécommunication, les avocats pourront participer à cette réunion.


Le président de la cour d’assises peut joindre à cet avis un document faisant état du projet de déroulement prévisionnel de l’audience mentionnant, au vu notamment des propositions qui lui ont été préalablement communiquées par le ministère public, la liste des témoins et des experts qui seront cités, et mentionnant également leur ordre de déposition ainsi que la durée de l’audience.
