Article D535 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The decision granting a convicted offender the benefit of conditional release may make the granting of this measure subject to one of the following conditions:

1° Having satisfied a test of semi-liberty, home detention under electronic supervision or unsupervised out-of-home placement, the terms of which are determined by the said decision, or having been granted one or more temporary absences;

2° Handing over all or part of his or her nominative account to the prison integration and probation service, with the responsibility for the said service to make restitution in instalments ;

3° Join the armed forces on land, at sea or in the air and space where authorised by law, or join a formation of the armed forces in the case of a prisoner belonging to an age contingent present or called up to serve in the armed forces, or in the case of a member of the armed forces on active service ;

4° In the case of a foreign national, be expelled from national territory, deported or extradited, or leave national territory and no longer appear there.

La décision accordant à un condamné le bénéfice de la libération conditionnelle peut subordonner l’octroi de cette mesure à l’une des conditions suivantes :

1° Avoir satisfait à une épreuve de semi-liberté, de détention à domicile sous surveillance électronique ou de placement à l’extérieur sans surveillance dont les modalités sont déterminées par ladite décision ou avoir bénéficié d’une ou plusieurs permissions de sortir ;

2° Remettre tout ou partie de son compte nominatif au service pénitentiaire d’insertion et de probation, à charge pour ledit service de restitution par fractions ;

3° S’engager dans les armées de terre, de mer ou de l’air et de l’espace dans les cas où la loi l’autorise, ou rejoindre une formation des forces armées s’il s’agit d’un détenu appartenant à un contingent d’âge présent ou appelé sous les drapeaux, ou s’il s’agit d’un militaire en activité de service ;

4° S’il s’agit d’un étranger, être expulsé du territoire national, reconduit à la frontière ou être extradé, ou quitter le territoire national et n’y plus paraître.
