Article D55 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

In accordance with the provisions of Article 715, the investigating judge, the president of the investigating chamber and the president of the assize court, as well as the public prosecutor and the public prosecutor, may give all necessary orders either for the investigation or for the trial, to be carried out in remand prisons or, where applicable, specialised juvenile prisons.

A report must be sent to them as a matter of urgency of any difficulties to which the execution of the said orders may give rise.

Conformément aux dispositions de l’article 715, le juge d’instruction, le président de la chambre d’instruction et le président de la cour d’assises, ainsi que le procureur de la République et le procureur général, peuvent donner tous les ordres nécessaires soit pour l’instruction, soit pour le jugement, qui devront être exécutés dans les maisons d’arrêt ou, le cas échéant, les établissements pénitentiaires spécialisés pour mineurs.

Compte rendu doit leur être adressé d’urgence des difficultés auxquelles pourrait donner lieu l’exécution desdits ordres.
