Article D6124-265 of the French Public Health Code

In addition to the premises mentioned in article D. 6124-257, hospital units include:

1° One or more calming areas, adapted to the nature of the patient’s care and the therapeutic project implemented, allowing exchanges with the psychiatrist or another professional away from other patients;

2° One or more individual isolation rooms. Each isolation room has natural light, ventilation, an accessible call device, sanitary facilities that respect the patient’s privacy and dignity, a water point, a clock showing the date and time and furniture suited to the patient’s clinical condition;

3° A reception area for the patient’s family and friends, allowing visits in privacy and respecting the confidentiality of exchanges, in particular appointments with lawyers;

4° A secure outdoor area.

The authorisation holder shall ensure that the layout of the premises allows patients to move freely between the different care areas of the unit mentioned in article D. 6124-257 and in this article.

Article D6124-265

Les unités d’hospitalisation comprennent, outre les locaux mentionnés à l’article D. 6124-257 :

1° Un ou des espaces d’apaisement, adaptés à la nature de la prise en charge des patients et au projet thérapeutique mis en œuvre, permettant des échanges avec le psychiatre ou avec un autre professionnel à l’écart des autres patients ;

2° Une ou plusieurs chambres d’isolement individuelles. Chaque chambre d’isolement dispose d’une luminosité naturelle, d’une aération, d’un dispositif d’appel accessible, de sanitaires respectant l’intimité du patient et sa dignité, d’un point d’eau, d’une horloge indiquant la date et l’heure et du mobilier adapté à l’état clinique du patient ;

3° Un espace d’accueil de l’entourage du patient permettant des visites dans l’intimité et respectant la confidentialité des échanges et notamment les rendez-vous avec les avocats ;

4° Un espace extérieur sécurisé.

Le titulaire de l’autorisation s’assure que l’aménagement des locaux permet la libre circulation des patients entre les différents lieux de soins de l’unité mentionnés à l’article D. 6124-257 et au présent article.
